LinkMind

LinkMind is a local-first personal relationship manager for macOS, keeping people, organizations, interactions, reminders, and relationship graphs in a portable data vault.

What is LinkMind

LinkMind is a local-first personal relationship manager for macOS and Windows that keeps your network of clients, friends, colleagues and partners — along with interactions, reminders and relationship graphs — in a portable local data vault.

Who it is for

  • Individuals maintaining long-term relationships with clients, friends, colleagues, or partners
  • Users who prefer local and portable data

What problem it solves

Important relationships are scattered across contacts, chats, notes, and memory. People worth following up with get buried by daily noise.

Core capabilities

Local-first relationship vault

The selected folder is the portable source of truth; SQLite is only a rebuildable local cache.

People and organization records

People records connect organizations, tags, and relationship metadata used by interactions and the graph.

Interactions and reminders

Calls, messages, meetings, birthdays, anniversaries, and follow-ups become a reviewable action flow.

Graph search and filters

The vis-network graph supports search, filters, neighborhood focus, dragging, and saved layouts.

Typical workflows

  • Create people and organization records
  • Record calls, messages, and meetings
  • Set birthday, anniversary, and follow-up reminders
  • Review context through the relationship graph

Use cases

  • Maintain clients, friends, and partners
  • Record important interactions
  • See people and organizations as a graph

Inputs

  • People and organization details
  • Interaction records
  • Reminder dates and relationship tags

Outputs

  • Searchable relationship records
  • Follow-up reminders
  • People and organization graph

Deployment and data boundary

  • A user-selected local folder is the portable source of truth
  • SQLite is only a rebuildable local cache
  • Cross-device sync depends on the user's chosen file synchronization method

System requirements

  • Windows: x64 installer requiring Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime; the minimum Windows version has not yet been regression-tested
  • macOS: Apple Silicon (arm64) installer; Intel Macs are not supported; the hardware requires macOS 11 or later

Known limitations

  • The minimum compatible Windows version has not yet been regression-tested
  • The Windows edition cannot read macOS Contacts; people records can still be maintained manually
  • Cross-device transfer, permission recovery, and sync latency depend on the user's chosen sync tool and are not provided as a LinkMind-hosted service

How it compares

vs

Contacts / Address Book apps

Address books only store contact details. LinkMind captures interaction history, reminders, relationship tags, and multi-dimensional relationship graphs.

vs

CRM systems (Salesforce, HubSpot)

CRMs target sales teams with cloud collaboration and subscriptions. LinkMind is for personal use, local-first, with no subscription.

vs

Note-taking tools (Obsidian, Notion)

Notes require you to build your own relationship tracking structure. LinkMind has a built-in data model for people, organizations, interactions, and reminders.

Frequently asked questions

Does LinkMind require cloud storage?

No. A local folder is the portable source of truth and SQLite is only a rebuildable cache.

Which relationships can it manage?

It can maintain clients, friends, colleagues, partners, and other long-term personal relationships.

How is it distributed?

Windows and macOS installers are available from the download page.

Where is LinkMind data stored?

Data stays in a local folder you choose. SQLite is only a device-local cache. Nothing is synced to any cloud.

How is LinkMind different from an address book?

Address books store contact details. LinkMind also records interactions, sets reminders, manages relationship tags, and visualizes connections through a relationship graph.
